Why lifters reach for these

Four reasons grip stops being the problem

Built around one job: getting your fingers out of the way on deadlifts, rows, and shrugs.

Grip stops being the limiting factor

Fold the leather pad over the bar and grip, and the pad carries the load once your forearms fatigue, so your back and legs finish the set instead of your grip cutting it short.

Hook-and-loop cuff straps on fast

Strap the neoprene cuff around your wrist and cinch the hook-and-loop closure through the D-ring, so you are set and gripping in seconds, no wrapping between sets.

7.48-inch neoprene wrist cuff

A 7.48-inch neoprene cuff sits at the wrist, spreading the load across a wider band instead of a thin edge.

Built to hold up

Double-stitched cowhide leather, 8.46 inches long and 0.19 inch thick, keeps its grip and its shape through heavy, repeated pulling sessions.

How Do Easy Grip Leather Pads Stop Grip From Limiting Your Pulling Sets?

An easy grip lifting pad works by strapping a padded leather pad to your wrist and folding it over the bar, so the leather, not your fingers, holds the bar once your grip starts to give out on a heavy pull.

Three things make that handoff work on deadlifts, rows, and shrugs:

  1. The leather pad takes the load off your fingers. Laying the double-stitched leather pad over the bar and gripping means the pad, not your finger flexors, holds the bar once your forearms start to fatigue, so you keep pulling instead of the bar rolling out of your hand mid-set. Browse the full lifting straps collection to compare every option in this build.
  2. A hook-and-loop cuff straps it on fast. Strap the neoprene cuff around your wrist and cinch the hook-and-loop closure through the D-ring, no wrapping needed, so you spend less time setting up between working sets.
  3. A padded wrist cuff keeps that transfer comfortable. The 7.48-inch neoprene cuff sits at the wrist, spreading the load across a wider band instead of a thin edge, which is what keeps a heavy set of rows or shrugs from turning into a wrist ache.

As an orthopedic physician assistant, I set the leather length, padding, and cuff around where load actually sits on the wrist during a heavy pull, not around a marketing brief. If you are deciding between a strap and a wrist wrap, our lifting straps vs. wrist wraps guide breaks down which one fixes your actual problem.

The mechanism, told straight

How an easy grip strap changes where the load lands

No magic. Just where the pull goes once your grip gives out.

A lifting strap doesn't make you stronger. It changes where a heavy pull's load lands once your forearms fatigue. Folding the leather pad over the bar and gripping it lets the pad, not your finger flexors, carry the bar, so grip fatigue stops being the first thing to fail on a heavy deadlift, row, or shrug.
1

Strap the cuff to your wrist

Strap the neoprene cuff around your wrist and cinch the hook-and-loop closure through the D-ring.

2

Pad over the bar

Lay the double-stitched leather pad over the bar and grip so it folds against it.

3

Load transfers to the pad

Once gripped, pulling tension routes through the leather pad instead of your fingers.

4

Cuff spreads the pressure

The 7.48-inch neoprene cuff spreads that load across the wrist instead of a thin edge.

5

You keep pulling

The set keeps going until your back or legs give out, not your hands.

These lifting straps are training equipment, not a medical device. They are designed to move grip out of the way of a heavy pull, not to prevent or treat any condition. If you have a diagnosed wrist or hand condition, talk with your provider before loaded pulling.

Straight answer

Do You Want a Quick-On Grip Pad or a Simple Wrap?

It depends on how fast you want to get set between sets and how much padding you want at the wrist. These Easy Grip Straps are the quick-on, padded pick in our strap lineup: strap the cuff around your wrist, lay the leather pad over the bar, and grip, no wrapping required. If you want the lowest-price grip aid, the Weight Lifting Straps 24 give you a non-slip cotton wrap at our lowest strap price. If you want the most locked-in hold for max-effort pulls, the Figure 8 Lifting Straps loop through both the bar and wrist so the wrap will not slip loose at all. Pick the one that matches how you train.

Why I build every piece the way I do.

After an accident left me with a severely injured spine, I spent years rebuilding my body, and more than a decade in orthopedic surgery studying the biomechanics of how the body carries load, and what makes it break down.

That understanding goes into everything I build at Body Reapers. I know what it takes to keep training hard without your body paying for it, so every piece is crafted with a decade of orthopedic knowledge and built to work the way it should: durable, reliable, and comfortable, set after set.

The training behind it

  • Coswig et al., 2015: A deadlift biomechanics study (Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, 29(12):3399-3404) found that lifting straps increased the force and total work done by the target muscles across multiple sets, so grip was less likely to be the link that cut the set short.
  • Trahey et al., 2023: A controlled study on female lifters (Journal of Strength and Conditioning Research, 37(10):1924-1928) found that using straps let them complete significantly more reps at 80% of their max deadlift, with a smaller drop in grip strength afterward and no negative effect on bar speed.

Better and cheaper, here's why

Two reasons these easy grip straps are better and cost less.

One strap, two things almost no one else pairs: a clinician's design and our own factory floor.

Designed by a clinician

An orthopedic OPA-C set the leather length, neoprene wrist padding, and hook-and-loop closure around how grip fatigues before your back and legs do on a heavy pull, not around a marketing brief. Every measurement traces back to bar control and a comfortable wrist, not trends.

Made in our own facility

We manufacture in-house instead of outsourcing. That lets us control the leather quality and cut the middleman markup. It is why a clinician-designed leather strap is $27.99 instead of a middleman-marked-up price, and why it holds up set after set.

Most brands outsource to third-party suppliers and mark up cheaper materials. We don't.

Keep them gripping

Care, warranty and returns

A little care keeps the leather and padding holding up set after set.

Care guide

  • Cleaning: wipe the leather and wrist padding down with a damp cloth after use. Avoid soaking the leather.
  • Drying: air-dry away from direct heat. Do not machine wash or machine dry, which can dry out the leather and stress the stitching.
  • Storage: keep the straps in a cool, dry place and let them fully dry before storing so they do not develop odor or mildew.

Warranty and returns

  • One-year warranty against defects. Easy returns and exchanges.
  • Free U.S. shipping over $50.

Body Reapers stands behind the quality of our easy grip lifting straps. They come with a one-year warranty covering defects in materials and craftsmanship under regular use. This warranty does not cover damage from improper handling or misuse. How to claim: contact our support team with your proof of purchase and images of the defect, and we will inspect and, if needed, replace your straps within the warranty period.

Questions, answered

Everything you're wondering

S/M fits a 5 to 8 inch wrist and L/XL fits 8 inches and up. Measure around your wrist just below the hand and pick the range you fall into for a snug hook-and-loop fit.
Instead of wrapping around the bar, you strap the padded cuff to your wrist and fold the leather pad over the bar, so you are set in seconds with no wrapping. The double-stitched leather grips the bar and holds its shape better than a thin cotton loop.
All three. They are built for any grip-limited pulling movement, deadlifts, barbell and dumbbell rows, and shrugs, anywhere your forearms give out before your back or legs do.
They solve different problems. Wrist wraps support the wrist joint for pressing movements, straps take grip out of the equation for pulling movements. Our lifting straps vs. wrist wraps guide breaks down which one fixes your actual problem, and our wrist wraps are the pick for pressing days.
A 7.48-inch neoprene cuff sits at the wrist, spreading the load across a wider band instead of a thin edge.
Yes. Each order is a pair of leather easy grip straps and ships with a mesh carry bag.
