Four reasons they earn a spot in your gym bag
Built around one job: keep your hands comfortable and your grip secure under a loaded bar.
Thick palms take the bar's bite
Padded palms cushion the pressure of the bar so heavy pressing and pulling stay comfortable, set after set.
Grip that stays put
A textured, non-slip palm keeps your hold secure on bars, dumbbells, and machines, even once your hands start to sweat.
Built-in wrist strap
An adjustable strap wraps the wrist for added stability during pressing and overhead work, with no separate wrap needed.
Breathable, no sweaty slip
A breathable mesh back lets heat and sweat escape so your hands stay cooler and drier through long sessions.
Why Do Lifters Wear Weight Lifting Gloves?
Weight lifting gloves put a layer of padding and grip between your hand and the bar, so heavy sets feel more comfortable and your hold stays secure.
Lifters choose padded gloves for a few practical reasons:
- Less pressure on the palm. Thick palm padding spreads the load of the bar across your hand instead of letting it dig into one narrow line, which keeps heavy pressing and pulling more comfortable and gives calluses and blisters less chance to form.
- A more secure grip. A textured, non-slip palm helps you keep your hold on bars, dumbbells, and machine handles even once your hands sweat, so grip is less likely to be the first thing that fails on a hard set.
- Wrist support when you want it. The built-in adjustable wrist strap wraps for added stability during pressing and overhead work, without needing a separate wrist wrap.
- Cooler, drier hands. A breathable mesh back lets heat and sweat escape, so your hands stay more comfortable through a long session.
From a hand-comfort standpoint, gloves earn their keep once the bar starts to bite: heavy or high-rep pressing and pulling, pull-ups and rows, or long sessions where a bare palm turns raw. They are a comfort and grip tool, not a substitute for building grip strength, so many lifters wear them on their heaviest or highest-volume days and go bare-handed the rest of the time.
Gloves sit in the comfort and all-around corner of the grip decision. If grip itself is the thing that fails on your heaviest pulls, figure 8 lifting straps take the load off your hands instead of cushioning them, and for focused wrist support under heavy presses a pair of wrist wraps does more than the glove's built-in strap. How a lifting glove actually helps
No magic. Just a layer of padding and friction between your hand and the bar.
Padding cushions
Thick palm padding sits between your hand and the bar.
Pressure spreads
The bar's load spreads across your palm instead of one narrow line.
Friction grips
A textured palm adds friction so your hold stays put.
Wrist stabilizes
The built-in strap adds wrist support when you want it.
These gloves are training and comfort equipment, not a medical device. They do not prevent or treat injury. If you have a diagnosed hand or wrist condition, talk with your provider before heavy lifting.

Do You Need Lifting Gloves?
Not for every set. If you are lifting light or your hands are already well conditioned, bare hands are fine. Gloves earn their place once the bar starts to bite: heavy pressing and pulling, high-rep pull-ups and rows, or long sessions where a raw palm turns into a callus or a blister. If you want to keep your hands comfortable and your grip secure without chalk, a padded glove is the simple fix, and the built-in wrist strap adds a little extra stability when you want it.
The Body Reapers Difference
What holds up under a heavy bar and honest scrutiny.
Two reasons these lifting gloves are better and cost less.
One glove, two things almost no one else pairs: a clinician's design and our own factory floor.
Designed by a clinician
An orthopedic OPA-C designed the palm padding and grip texture around how repeated bar contact loads the hand during heavy pressing and pulling, not around a marketing brief. Every panel traces back to shock absorption and grip control, not trends.

Made in our own facility
We manufacture in-house instead of outsourcing. That lets us control the material quality and cut the middleman markup. It is why a clinician-designed glove is $15.00 instead of a middleman-marked-up price, and why it holds up set after set.
Most brands outsource to third-party suppliers and mark up cheaper materials. We don't.
